Financial Literacy Month
National Financial Literacy Month is recognized in the United States in April in an effort to highlight the importance of financial literacy and teach Americans how to establish and maintain healthy financial habits.
During the month of April, Student Advocates for Financial Education and Student Money Management Services are hosting a several FREE events to celebrate national financial literacy month.
Financial Lecture Series
From April 3rd through April 26th, Student Money Management Services will host financial lecture series of nine speakers from banks, business school, financial advisor, and KS state treasurer over various financial topics.
On Wednesday of April 24thfrom 11 am to 2 pm at the Kansas Union, Student Advocates for Financial Education is presenting Cash Carnival to KU students and staff. We will provide free popcorns, free cotton candy along with fun financial games such as financial football, money fortune telling, and expenses shooting range. Also, students and staff will have an opportunity to check their credit report for free provided by Student Money Management Services staff. Moreover, representatives from legal services, commerce bank, financial aid, and financial advisor will be present to answer your questions.
